in the Madison Valley Neighborhood...
Seattle.
Okay so normally tiny restaurants with table service are NOT our cup of tea. But Mr. is a lover of good pizza and The Independent is good pizza!
Foodpros
- Great pizza- wood fired, lots of delicious toppings.
- Good beer.
- Great wine.
So here's what makes it kid friendly despite the tiny space and table service...lets call these Kidpros
Kidpros in order of importance
- The servers are not hostile to kids but on the contrary are friendly
- The space is relatively kid friendly with unpretentious seating including outdoor seating.
- There seems to be a general recognition that some people who have kids might want to eat there with said kids- so simple things like a small basket of figurines, a game of uno, and some crayons
- They have some kid friendly options on the menu but didn't hand us a kids menu (my kiddos aren't too picky
- There is a park less than 1 block away, which was a nice place to pop over to after dinner (and to threaten with, "if you don't xxx no park."
